Hi, We’re Sisters & Dollars
Money is a lot less scary when someone explains it like a big sister would: honestly, simply, and without judgment. That’s the whole idea behind Sisters & Dollars.
This blog is the companion to Sister vs Sister, our short-video series on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. Each episode puts two animated sisters in the same money situation, like signing up for a first credit card, financing a car, or splitting rent, and shows how different choices lead to very different results.
Meet the Sisters
- Big Sis has made her money mistakes already and learned from them. She budgets, pays her cards in full, checks her credit reports, and has a lot of opinions about “buy now, pay later.”
- Little Sis is figuring it all out, just like most of us did in our late teens and twenties. She asks the questions people are often too embarrassed to ask, and she learns fast.
Their back-and-forth is the point. Little Sis isn’t “dumb with money.” She just hasn’t been taught yet, and most of the money stuff that matters isn’t taught in school.
Why a Blog Too?
A 45-second video can show you why something matters. It can’t always show you how to do it step by step. Here on the blog, each episode gets a deeper write-up with:
- The full math behind the example in the video, explained in plain English
- Step-by-step action plans you can start the same day
- Links to trustworthy public sources, like the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), myFICO, and the major credit bureaus, so you can check things for yourself
- Straight answers to common questions, with no hype and no shame
Who This Is For
We write mainly for young adults in the U.S.: students, new grads, first-job earners, and anyone starting (or restarting) their financial life. Topics include:
- Credit scores and credit building
- Credit cards: how to use them without getting burned
- Budgeting and budgeting apps
- Car loans, student loans, and other big borrowing decisions
- Saving, emergency funds, and getting started with investing
Our Promise to You
We aim to be accurate, honest, and useful. When we use numbers, we either link to a public source or clearly label them as illustrative examples. We don’t make up statistics, and we won’t promise you’ll get rich quick (nobody honest can).
Some posts may include affiliate links in the future. If you sign up for a product through one of those links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That will never change what we say is good or bad. For details, see our Disclaimer and Privacy Policy.
Everything here is for education only and isn’t personalized financial advice. Your situation is unique, so for big decisions it’s worth talking with a qualified professional.
